I'm Kourtney Hay, the artist behind the canvas.

Since childhood, art has been my voice when words fell short. Yet, I never envisioned it as a career path.

​

I began college as a Biology major on the pre-med track, immersed in labs throughout my freshman year, with little time for art. However, the global pandemic abruptly altered my plans, transitioning my classes to virtual learning and diminishing my passion for science. Searching for stability, I returned to painting, rekindling my love for art. This led me to change my major to Fine Arts with a minor in Business, culminating in a BFA from the University of Missouri – Columbia in May 2023. Since then, I haven't looked back.

My work centers on women, exploring their dynamic with men in a patriarchal society. Through art, I express my views, beliefs, and values while navigating contemporary gender issues.
